Lakshmi Puja

Lakshmi puja is done on Diwali evening and on Fridays.

Samagri

• Lakshmi image, with Ganesha on her left
• Lotus or red flowers
• Rice, turmeric and kumkum
• Coins
• Sweets and fruit
• Many small lamps

Steps

• Clean the home and light lamps at the door.
• Place Ganesha and Lakshmi on a clean red cloth.
• Worship Ganesha first.
• Offer flowers, kumkum, rice and coins to Lakshmi.
• Chant Om Mahalakshmyai Namah 108 times.
• Do aarti and share sweets with family.
