Dhruva the Star

Dhruva was a five-year-old prince. One day he was told he could not sit on his father's lap. He felt very sad.

His mother said, "Only God can give you a place that no one can take away."

So little Dhruva went to the forest. He prayed to Vishnu day and night and never gave up.

Vishnu was so pleased that he appeared, and gave Dhruva a shining place in the sky. Today we call it the Pole Star, the star that always stays in one place.

**What we learn:** If you keep trying, you can reach great things.
