Privacy Policy
Utshov is operated by Promi Z Limited. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What stays on your phone
You can use Utshov without an account. Your counts, streaks and settings are then stored only on your device.
If you sign in
When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email address and an account ID. We store these with your practice data (malas, streaks and sankalps) so it can sync between your devices.
Your city and birth details
Your city is stored on your device and is used to work out sunrise, tithi and festival dates. Birth details for a Kundali are stored only on your device. To find mandirs, the app sends your city's coordinates, or your location rounded to about 25 km if you allow location access, to our server and to public OpenStreetMap search services, which look up mandirs in that area. Your exact location stays on your phone. If you ask for a route, your starting point, rounded to about 100 metres, and the mandir's location are sent through our server to Google to work out the route. We keep only a coded copy of that request and the route for 30 days, so we cannot read your location from it. The map itself is shown by Google Maps, which is covered by Google's own privacy policy.
Dharma AI
When you ask Dharma AI a question, we send the question to our server and to one of our AI providers to create the answer. These may include Groq, Google, Cerebras, Mistral, OpenRouter, Anthropic and OpenAI. Some providers' free plans may use questions to improve their services. We keep a daily count of questions to apply limits. Do not include personal details in your questions.
Family groups
If you join a family group, other members can see your name, your malas and your streak.
Community japa
If a community goal is running, your device sends the number of malas you finish. We store this with a random device ID, not your name.
Purchases
Payments are handled by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We never see your card details. RevenueCat tells us whether your subscription is active.
Ads
Free users see ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first, and on iOS you can decline tracking.
Notifications
If you allow them, we send reminders and news through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn them off in your device settings.
Crash reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix crashes. Reports contain technical data about the device and the app, not your practice data.
Your choices
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. This removes your account and synced data from our servers.
